Dates are a sweet, caramel-like fruit that are high in vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants making them the perfect guilt-free dessert! They are 100% natural sugar (which your brain needs roughly 50g of a day to function) and consuming them helps support your heart health and protects your body from diseases. Dates are one of my favorite desserts – they are delicious as is, but can easily be stuffed to enhance their taste even more! Graham Crackers and Honey
This is my favorite way to enjoy a stuffed date – It is the perfect crunchy, caramel treat. I start by opening the date and drizzling honey in the center. Then, I either crush the graham cracker into crumbs or I break them apart into small slivers before stuffing them in the date and enjoying!
Chocolate and Coconut
For this date, I start by heating my chocolate of choice in the microwave in quick 10 second intervals until fulled melted. Then I dip the dates in the chocolate to give them a nice coat before rolling the dates in coconut shavings. I typically let the dates cool in the freezer for 5-10 minutes to harder the chocolate before enjoying!
Cream Cheese
I know what you might be thinking – cream cheese?? I was skeptical at first too, but this makes for the perfect caramel cream dessert that is sure to be a hit. Simply break open the date and fill with cream cheese. Enjoy with a sprinkle of cinnamon for a fun fall twist.
Nut Butter and Sea Salt
This one definitely gets pretty messy but it’s a delicious sweet and salty treat. I start by warming the nut butter in the microwave for 10 seconds before adding it to the date. Then, I sprinkle on some sea salt and enjoy!
